CCC Certification, namely China Compulsory Certification, is a compulsory market access system implemented by China in accordance with the law to protect consumers' personal safety, national security and the environment. In recent years, safety accidents such as fires caused by power banks have occurred from time to time, seriously threatening consumers' personal health and public safety. To strengthen supervision, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued an announcement in March 2023, incorporating power banks and their key component, lithium-ion batteries (cells), into the CCC certification management. It was also stipulated that starting from August 1, 2024, power banks and cells that have not obtained CCC certification It shall not be manufactured, sold, imported or used in any other business activities.
To obtain CCC certification, power banks must follow a strict process. Enterprises should first submit an application to a qualified certification body and at the same time provide materials such as product manuals, circuit diagrams, lists of key components, and business licenses. If you entrust a factory to produce on your behalf, you also need to provide an OEM agreement. After accepting the application, the certification body conducts a comprehensive test on the product samples. After the inspection is passed, on-site inspections of the production factory will be carried out to check whether the production equipment is complete, such as aging test equipment. Whether the quality management system is sound, covering links such as procurement and inspection records; And whether the products produced are consistent with the samples sent for inspection. Only when both the product inspection and factory review are qualified can the enterprise obtain the certificate, and the products can be affixed with the CCC mark and enter the market circulation.
The standard specification mark is made with holographic laser anti-counterfeiting technology. It features a white base plate with black patterns, including diamond-shaped designs and dark stripes of the words "China Certification", giving it a sense of authenticity and three-dimensionality. A mark without a three-dimensional effect is very likely to be a counterfeit.
CCC certification adds a solid line of defense to the safety of power banks. When consumers purchase power banks, they must recognize the CCC certification mark to ensure their own electrical safety.
